Homepage Layout Concepts
I was grouped with 3 other designers to create prototypes of different site features that we would like to see go through development. Our goal was to create more storytelling moments within the page and shorten the amount of scroll time on the site. Below is an mp4 scrolling through various concepts of the site redesign that I created for leadership to preview. These concepts were shown in order for our team to try and bring about a push for development to provide us with more flexible builds within FirstSpirit CMS to create more dynamic and engaging layouts.
I worked with our digital marketing strategy partners to redesign the look and feel of the homepage at the start of 2021. The scroll time was shortened by creating headers where an overarching coupon message could be incorporated as a storytelling element rather than listing out each family of business and the corresponding offer. The offers used imagery as a visual navigation element and as inspiration for the customer to click through. The top of the site became reserved as an area to showcase omni priorities paired with our best photography.
The layouts below show the progress made to the site using builds within our CMS that didn't require any additional work from the frontend developers. To the left is what the site layout consisted of before the redesign. To the right, you will notice how the scroll time was reduced by creating sliders featuring omni-priorities, visually captivating navigation for customers to click through, and headers calling out the coupon offers with a main click through to an assortment of all items that are coupon eligible.
